About us
First and foremost, OHES understands the commercial and environmental pressures our clients face and our position as the bridge between these two, often competing, worlds gives them the peace of mind they need.
However, it is the experience of the divisional leaders and their teams of consultants that makes the biggest difference. We are a very credible partner with proven expertise.
Our clients know that every OHES senior consultant, many of whom are ex-environmental regulators, has a minimum of a science degree and 5 years’ experience in the business.
What’s more, they deliver cost effective and timely solutions to the environmental challenges our clients face.
Our qualities
We are all too aware that time is money and we aim to solve problems as quickly as possible, whether this is in our response time to a spill incident, remediating contaminated land or carrying out a protected species survey for a property developer.
As a business, OHES is fastidious about excellence and we work hard to demonstrate our commitment to this. We have ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 accreditations in quality, environmental and health and safety management systems respectively, we are a UKSpill accredited contractor, hold membership of OFTEC and we are on the Gas Safe Register whilst also being a registered supplier with Achilles UVDB and an Altius Assured Vendor.
We are members of the Oil Care Campaign, the Federation of Petroleum Suppliers and the UK Spill Association, whilst we encourage and support our technical staff as members of leading industry organisations, like IEMA, CIWEM, CILA, IOSH, Institute of Fisheries Management and the Geological Society.
Our approach
Our approach to what we do is to be totally customer focused. The environmental services market is wide ranging with a huge array of services available to clients. This does not make the selection of these services easy for many organisations that we deal with. We feel it is important to understand the dynamics and nuances of a particular market place before we offer our services to it. To that end our business strategy is centred on aligning ourselves and our partners with sectors where we can demonstrate genuine expertise and thought leadership.
We augment this by creating and assembling product bundles which are designed to solve environmental and business problems that are specific to that market place. Our focus is on providing our clients with tailored and relevant services rather than taking a scattergun approach where we hope the market finds what we offer. The feedback we receive on products like 123 Spill Response, Spill Protect, EnviroConstruct and Dangerous Goods Solutions shows that the market is looking for the intelligent, business focused approach we take.
Our ESG strategy
We exist to prevent pollution by enhancing our customer’s environmental risk management.
As part of the Adler & Allan Group, we are focused on ESG in how we deliver services to our customers and our own internal strategy. We align with the Group ESG strategy to ensure a bigger impact with a single, consistent approach.
Whistleblowing
We value the safety and respect of everyone affected by our business and strive to maintain a transparent business climate.
As such, we provide a whistleblowing service through an external partner called WhistleB to ensure anonymity.
The whistleblowing service can be used to alert us about serious risks of wrongdoing affecting people, our organisation, society, or the environment. Your report can include information regarding criminal offences, irregularities and violations or other actions in breach of EU or national laws, within a work-related context.
