Dan joined OHES in 2006 to establish the contaminated land division, bringing with him a proven track record in environmental consultancy, including all aspects of contaminated land management.
As Managing Director, Dan takes pride in our ability to offer a professional, flexible and cost-effective approach, delivered by specialist, experienced, high-calibre staff.
Bryan Cherry
Environmental Risk Survey Manager
Providing expert consultancy and developing bespoke solutions, Bryan leads land quality services across a wide variety of sites, including landfill, oil depots, petrol stations, large industrial properties and gas works.
Having worked with the Environment Agency, Bryan brings a wealth of experience in environmental due diligence, contaminated land, project management, and business development.
Hugo Jenkins
Head of Water and Ecology
With 25 years of experience working in consultancy and regulatory roles, and specialisms in operational leadership, business development, innovation and customer service, Hugo works closely with clients to protect their businesses and help enhance the UK riverine environment.
Hugo’s passion for protecting the ecology of our rivers, lakes and ocean underpins his commitment to helping clients meet the challenge of reducing impact and complying with stricter environmental standards.
Dan Ellis
Sustainability Manager
Dan brings over 21 years of experience in environmental consultancy, helping our clients to plan, strategise, and continually improve their ESG efforts through consultancy, audits, and ongoing advice and support.
Bill Atkinson
Chief Scientific Advisor
With many years of experience in managing emergency response services and offering specialist advice on hazardous material incidents, Bill is one of the authors of the UK operational guidance for fire services on dealing with hazardous materials. He is also a qualified Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser (DGSA).
Bill heads up our team of incident advisors and consultants, offering 24-hour chemical emergency advice as well as DGSA services, SDS authoring, training, consultancy, and spill response.
Chris Ramsbottom
Head of Operational and Technical Support
Chris oversees operational and technical aspects of project delivery.
Prior to joining OHES, Chris spent 8 years gaining extensive experience in project management and environmental consulting.
In addition to a diverse background in environmental project management and leadership, Chris holds a BSc (Hons) in Geography & Geology.
Neil Beswick
Area Manager, North
Neil is a contaminated land professional with over 17 years of experience in the field of environmental assessment and remediation.
Neil manages our land quality and technical teams in the North.
Sam Hickingbotham
Area Manager, South
Sam is an accomplished environmental professional with a wealth of experience in environmental consultancy and management.
Before joining OHES, Sam gained valuable experience as a Senior Environmental Scientist and Environmental Scientist. His academic foundation includes a bachelor’s degree in Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences from the University of Birmingham.
